That was our dramatic blog post title from last month. But it’s true. Accidental disconnection from data center power outlets can be costly, as shown by the story of British Airways that we shared.
It’s in that spirit that MEGA Electronics has created its newest product, the space-saving multi-tier C-13 IEC outlets.

“Our clients know that downtime resulting from an accidental disconnection can be expensive,” said MEGA Vice President Guy Francfort. “Our C13 Outlets are designed to prevent those costly outages while also saving space.”
Here’s how it works:
The locking mechanism works the same way as MEGA’s single IEC lock outlet.
The button must be pressed to insert the connector.
Once inserted, the button is released and springs back, which causes the metal blade to clamp down on the earth pin, preventing removal.
Press the button to release the grip on the earth pin allowing the connector to be removed.
Each outlet comes with an independent release locking mechanism and an easy-to-access button to operate the mechanism. The outlets come in two versions – four tiers and six tiers –and take up less space than four or six individual IEC locks would use.
